Chuck Hayward, JJ Buckley, October 2010

30% chardonnay, 32% pinot meunier, 38% pinot noir. A complex and balanced mélange of granny smith apple, burnt caramel and spiced pear forms the bouquet. Moderately intense flavors of crisp pear with subtle, sweet spice are fresh and vibrant. The finish is firm yet snappy. (LB111D05510)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, December 2010

The NV Brut Classic is a pretty, entry-level wine. Warm, generous fruit comes together beautifully in this rich, expansive, mid-weight Champagne. The bouquet, texture and purity of the finish are all first-rate. The Brut Classic is equal parts Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. Like all Deutz Champagnes, it undergoes full malolactic fermentation. This is Lot LB1100D0169, disgorged January, 2009. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2014. -Antonio Galloni

90 points,

Wine Spectator, November 2011

There's an aromatic floral note to the flavors of apricot, ripe apple, smoky mineral, kumquat and lemon zest in this firm bubbly, which is fine-grained and balanced, with a lively, moderate finish. Drink now through 2015. 8,500 cases imported. -AN
