Here the nose is more elegant compared to that of the regular cuvée of the Blanc de Blancs with its appealing nose of rose petal, citrus and plenty of green apple character. There is a lovely sense of refinement to the crisp, clean and pure flavors that terminate in a moderately long and somewhat curiously, slightly less complex finish. Given that this is already drinking well it's not immediately obvious that it will necessarily develop significantly more depth if held in the cellar. To be sure, this is perfectly good but I prefer the regular cuvée.

100% chardonnay from three different vintages from old vines in the grand cru of Cremant. The reserve wines are aged in 2-3 year old barriques. The nose here is quite closed with just the barest hint of fresh bread and citrus. The palate shows more excitement with precise flavors of apple and pear mixed in with hints of vanilla which contribute to a long, fruit-filled finish. Very complex, the various flavors are seamlessly integrated and woven together as they constantly reveal depth and nuance. Quite exciting.

Light yellow. Fresh, mineral- and floral-accented aromas and flavors of lemon curd, orange and green apple. Racy and precise, with excellent finishing clarity and cut. In an uncompromising style that I really like but I can imagine that some will find this Champagne too austere.

A rich blanc de blancs with creamy flavors held firmly in its austere structure, this is pale and compelling Champagne. The aromas are broad and floral, narrowing to a tight, focused flavor by the minerally lime-pith acidity. Pour it with poached prawns.

This tightly knit Champagne brings something more with each sip, and a hint of peach leads first to ripe apple and quince flavors, then papaya, nut, lemon meringue, ginger, licorice and grated coconut notes. This is very focused, with racy acidity and fine texture throughout. Drink now through 2018. 100 cases imported. -AN
