1988 Romanee Conti, Domaine de la Richebourg Grand Cru Pinot Noir
Reviews of 1988 Romanee Conti, Domaine de la Richebourg Grand Cru Pinot Noir
96 points, Robert Parker, Wine Advocate January 1994 January 1990 - The Richebourg was an explosive wine with an earthy, cinnamon, gingery, soy sauce aroma backed up with the intense smell of plums and toasty new oak. Extremely rich, full bodied, and awesomely proportioned, this heroic wine should be drunk from the late nineties through the first two decades of the twenty-first century. It seems bigger, fuller, and more powerful than even the celestial 1985.
94 points, Wine Spectator April 1994 April 1991 - Tight and beautifully focused, with a laser beam of plum, raspberry and tart cherry flavor, hinting at cola and spice around the edges, nailed in place by lavish tannins and sharp acidity. It's an age-worthy package, already showing a glimmer of silky te 1,000 cases made.

About the Winery Romanee Conti, Domaine de la
"Domaine de la Romanee-Conti is without question the most famous estate in Burgundy and arguably the greatest. The domaine has 25 hectares of vineyards, all Grand Crus, including the jewel in the crown, the 1.8 hectare monopole of Romanée-Conti. Yields are mind numbingly low and the winemaking is traditional and perfectionist."
