About Winery

The Sauternes region enjoys a climate which is particularly conducive to the development of a microscopic fungus: Botrytis Cynerea, commonly known as "noble rot."

Located 40 km south of Bordeaux, in Preignac, on one of the terraces of the Garonne, the vines of Chateau Bastor-Lamontange cover a surface area of 56 hectares (138 acres) on magnificent siliceous and gravel soils and are wholly dedicated to the production of sweet white wine.
