89 points,

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, February 1993

Smart money will go after the 1989 and 1990. The 1990 is nearly black-colored, with a reticent, spicy, licorice, mineral, and cassis-scented nose. In the mouth, there is great extraction, rich, full-bodied, chewy texture, and a splendidly long, moderately tannic finish. Bravo! Anticipated maturity: 1996-2010.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, June 1992

This is the second straight top-notch vintage for this property, which for decades had been an underachiever. Nearly black-colored, with a reticent spicy, licorice, mineral, and cassis-scented nose, the 1990 Cos Labory would appear to have more in common with a Hermitage than a Bordeaux. In the mouth, there is great extraction, rich, full-bodied, chewy texture, and a splendidly long, moderately tannic finish. My instincts suggest that this is even better than the 1989. Bravo! Anticipated maturity: 1996-2010.

91 points,

Wine Spectator, August 2000

Slightly overdone but seriously good. Dark ruby color. Impressive aromas of dark chocolate, currants and mint. Full-bodied, with big yet polished tannins and a long, mouthpuckering finish. Very young indeed.--1990 Bordeaux retrospective. Best after 2002. 10,000 cases made. (JS)
