Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, November 2011

Deep garnet colored with a touch of brick, this gives earthy / meaty notes over a core of red and blackcurrant preserves, pencil lead and Indian spices. Medium-full bodied with medium-firm, fine grained tannins and crisp acid, there's plenty of expressive fruit in the mouth giving a good long finish.-Lisa Perrotti-Brown

Offers mature currant, coffee, cedar and anise flavors, it turns rich and complex.--'81/'91 California Cabernet retrospective. Drink now. -JL

About Winery

In 1966, Robert Mondavi built the first major winery in Napa Valley since prohibition: Robert Mondavi Winery. With the release of the Robert Mondavi Winery's Cabernet Sauvignon in the late 60's the world's eyes were opened to the potential of the Napa Valley. The historic Paris tasting in 1976, where two former winemakers of the Robert Mondavi Winery won first prize, further supported this revelation.

In 1979, Robert Mondavi established the Woodbridge Winery near his childhood home of Lodi, California and took the next step in a journey that would re-invent wine culture in America. Through tireless winemaking innovation, an uncompromising eye for quality and unshakable faith in California's vineyards, Robert Mondavi realized his vision of creating a collection of the most recognized and best-loved wines in the world.
