A bottling from this winery's flagship lineup, characteristically tight and firm, with chewy tannins. The core of spicy currant, earthy anise and cedary oak flavors folds together nicely on the finish. Best cellared to make it smoother and softer. Best after 2000. 3,100 cases made. -JL
