The 1993 Miravalle Alba Chevalier Proprietary Red could easily pass for a second or third-growth Medoc. A blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, and 11% Cabernet Franc, it exhibits an impressive dark ruby/purple color, fine ripeness, attractive black currants and minerals, well-integrated wood, and a tannic finish. Anticipated maturity: 2001-2016.

This winery's red wines, which are given extended macerations of between 14-45 days, tend to be primarily Cabernet Sauvignon-based wines, aged in 100% new oak.
