1994 Pride Mountain Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve
Cabernet Sauvignon: 750ml
$199.99
about this wine:
"Making their debut in 2003, the youngest Cabernet Sauvignon vines (located on the Sonoma portion of our mountaintop property) make a stunning contribution to the first Pride Cabernet bearing a label that indicates the estate's unique position straddling the county line... the bright cherry and clove aromas in this elegantly muscular wine indicate a thoroughly rich and ripe Cabernet. Cassis and currant flavors envelope the palate, framed by a full and even tannin spectrum. Enjoyable in its youth as all of the Pride wines are, ample acidity and brightness of fruit guarantee the long-term aging potential of this beautiful wine...The richest vineyard blocks are barrel aged for an additional six months, bottled in extremely small quantities. These 100% varietals are then bottle aged for eight months prior to release. This wine is produced in extremely limited quantities and is made available only to the winery's most loyal consumers."

The 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve (the first Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon they have made) is produced from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and aged completely in French oak casks. It is another profound Cabernet from the exceptional 1994 vintage. The wine's opaque purple color and huge, massive richness do not come across as heavy, despite the wine's extraordinary intensity and thickness. There is enough acidity for freshness, and plenty of sweet, well-integrated tannin. This large-scaled, magnificently-endowed Cabernet Sauvignon needs 5-6 years of cellaring, but it should keep for 25+ years. This Spring Mountain winery continues to push the envelope of quality as evidenced by the current releases - the finest wines they have yet produced. Moreover, these wines catapult Pride Mountain into the top echelon of California's quality wineries.

Dark in color, sharply focused on the core of currant, wild berry and black cherry. Young and intense, it will need another 3 to 5 years of cellaring to reach its peak. Best after 2001. 200 cases made
