The 1995 Petrus boasts an opaque purple color followed by a sensational jammy nose of black fruits and spices. This monstrous, over-sized wine is oozing with extract, glycerin, and jammy fruit, yet it is oh, so pure and well-balanced. Its mouthcoating, teeth-staining levels of extract are hauntingly close to the profoundly perfect 1989 and 1990 Petrus. The 1995 is awesome! Anticipated maturity: 2004-2035. Last tasted 11/97

Powerfully thick and rich. Superb. Full-bodied, with great beauty and lots of mineral, licorice and fresh tobacco character. Delicious.--Pétrus vertical. Drink now through 2010. (JS)

A very good wine. Very pricy but worth it. This Bordeaux has
beautiful red and purple color to it. I got a hint of coffee and black fruits
in the aroma. the taste was very strong with BIG body and a sweet black fruit
flavor. If you can afford the price go for it.

"The Pomerol appellation is comprised of small properties producing modest quantities of generally excellent wines, at expensive prices. Pomerols are usually rich and full-bodied red wines, which blend the aromas of black cherry, black currant and blackberry. These are well-structured and complex wines. Château Petrus' vineyards cover 5.5 acres and produce 35,000 bottles per year. Thanks to the astute management of Christian Moueix and his team, Petrus is reputed to be the best Pomerol in the world. Indeed, the processes used by Château Petrus have resulted in the creation of a wine characterized by an intense, dark color, and by extremely delicate tannins."
