The finest Beausejour-Duffau since the profound 1990, the 1995 possesses a saturated dark plum/purple color, and a tight but sweet, old vine nose of kirsch, black cherries, licorice, and truffles. Medium-bodied, with high tannin, and a raspberry/cherry fruitiness, this structured, rich, medium to full-bodied, powerful, and muscular effort will need 10-12 years of cellaring. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2025. Last tasted 11/97

Château Beau-Séjour Bécot is located on the plateau of Saint-Martin de Mazerat, to the immediate west of Saint-Emilion village, in the heart of the Saint-Emilion appellation. It is surrounded by the most prestigious vineyards of the commune,which counts two "Premier Grand Cru Classé A" and eleven "Premier Grand Cru Classé B". This classification is unique in that it is revised every ten years.
