92 points,

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, December 1998

The 1996 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve may be no better than the Oakville, but it is made in a slightly different style. The color is opaque purple, and the wine reveals more vanillin, a touch of mint, and plenty of black currant fruit in its moderately intense aromatics. Some of the vintage's dry tannin (from this year's stressed vineyard conditions) is present in the wine's finish. A more stylish, restrained, less exuberant example than the 1996 Oakville, it is an outstanding offering...

95 points,

Wine Spectator, November 1999

Rich and complex yet restrained in style, with pretty coffee, currant, black cherry, spice and anise flavors that fan out nicely, this California Cabernet turns particularly elegant and polished on the long finish...

About Winery

In 1966, Robert Mondavi built the first major winery in Napa Valley since prohibition: Robert Mondavi Winery. With the release of the Robert Mondavi Winery's Cabernet Sauvignon in the late 60's the world's eyes were opened to the potential of the Napa Valley. The historic Paris tasting in 1976, where two former winemakers of the Robert Mondavi Winery won first prize, further supported this revelation.

In 1979, Robert Mondavi established the Woodbridge Winery near his childhood home of Lodi, California and took the next step in a journey that would re-invent wine culture in America. Through tireless winemaking innovation, an uncompromising eye for quality and unshakable faith in California's vineyards, Robert Mondavi realized his vision of creating a collection of the most recognized and best-loved wines in the world.
