1997 Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon S.L.V.
Cabernet Sauvignon: 750ml
$99.99
about this wine:
Planted by the Warren Winiarski family in 1970, S.L.V. achieved international fame when three-year-old vines from the 1973 harvest produced a wine that shocked the wine world by besting some of France's greatest wines in a 1976 blind tasting known as the "Judgment of Paris." Today, this history-making vineyard continues to yield wines of multi-layered complexity, structure, and spicy intensity.

Packs in lots of rich, intense, deep flavors of currant, anise, coffee, cedar, mineral, sage and black cherry. Tightly wound, with rich, firm, earthy, detailed tannins, it needs a sign: patience required. Best from 2005 through 2018. 3,688 cases made. (JL)
