The sweet peach-scented 1998 Tokay-Pinot Gris "Hugel" ion de Grains Nobles is crammed with unctuous layers of smoky yellow fruits. This botrytis-laden wine is full-bodied, complex (everything from porcini mushrooms to bananas can be found in its character), and extremely long in the finish. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2015.

Lively orange and pineapple aromas. Lovely freshness in the mouth. Not especially thick or sweet (109 g/l r.s.) thanks to lively acidity. This is less rich but finer than the '97, and very long on the aftertaste. 91-93 points
