The dark ruby-colored 1998 Chianti Classico Giorgio Primo offers dense currant and cherry aromas mixed with scents of new French oak. Structured, rich, and concentrated, it possesses abundant tannin, but adequate sweetness for balance. Drink it over the next 12-14 years.

Deep ruby. Very sweet and spicy on the nose, with jammy plum, vanilla and coconut aromas. A supple, elegantly textured midweight, with flavors of bitter chocolate and caramel accompanying the plum and blackberry fruit on the finish. Tannins are quite smooth.
