Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, December 2010

The 1999 Brut Seduction is 55% Chardonnay and 45% Pinot Noir that seems a few months in oak. This shows lovely richness and depth, along with an extra layer of volume from the partial aging in oak barrels. Voluptuous and creamy to the finish, the Seduction impresses for its fine balance and round, harmonious finish. This is Lot LSE995003XNO036, disgorged January, 2010. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2017. -AG

In the case of this Champagne's label, it's the women seducing the man. And, yes, this is an elegant Champagne, dominated by crisp Chardonnay acidity, ripe apples and citrus. There is minerality to add to the stylish mix. R.V.

93 points,

Wine Spectator, December 2010

A subtle Champagne that meshes layers of coffee liqueur, hazelnut, lemon curd and pastry smoke notes in this wine's refined frame. There's a modestly mouthwatering effect from the acidity, balancing an overall richness, with a lingering, smoke-tinged finish. Drink now through 2015. 2,000 cases made.--AN

About Winery

Charles Emile Ellner began his career performing remuage, or riddling, in the cellars of Champagne. During that time, he slowly acquired vineyards in the village of Epernay. In 1972, descendents of Charles founded the winery and members of the family continue to operate the winery today.

The domaine is comprised of 54 hectares of vineyards located in 15 different villages spread across the Champagne region. These vineyards supply the winery with about 70% of the winery's needs which arte supplemented by grapes from other growers. All the cuvees are fermented in stainless steel and do not undergo malolactic fermentation.
