Delicious, elegant aromas and flavors of earth, mocha, cherries, and tobacco characterize this middle weight, dark ruby-colored 1999. It offers low acidity, sweet fruit, and an appealing combination of accessibility and balanced elegance. Drink it over the next 10-12 years.

This medium to full-bodied Trotanoy has turned out reasonably well. It reveals some of this estate's masculine/muscular stature. It will be ready to drink at an early age given its low acidity and ripe, open-knit, expansive personality. Anticipated maturity: 2003-2016.

Good bright red-ruby. Perfumed aromas of raspberry, cherry, iron, roast coffee and minerals. Concentrated and deep, with bright red fruit flavors given definition by harmonious acidity. This is silky and sophisticated. Finishes long and smooth, with a burst of cherry flavor. I liked this a year ago, but today I find even more verve and depth. 89-91 points

Good ruby-red. Very sweet aromas of maraschino cherry, tar, tobacco and coffee. Rather full on the palate, with a silky texture and lovely sweetness. Persistent finish features chewy tannins and a note of cured tobacco. 89 points
