Smooth and elegant, with a fine tuned core of black cherry, raspberry, blueberry, cedar, spice, coffee, chocolate, herbs and licorice notes. Tannins are firm yet delicate, supporting a long, bright finish redolent of cocoa, vanilla, toast and tangy berries. This is an elegant wine, neatly balanced and downright delicious to the end.

Very complex in a Bordeauxish style, with layers of earth, anise, herb, currant and wild berry. Well-structured, with a long, complex aftertaste, picking up light oak shadings. Drink now through 2010. 450 cases made. (JL)
