IGT Maremma Toscana Saffredi was first created in 1987 but the vineyard, in the area around Magliano, was planted seven years earlier by Elisabetta's mentor, Fredi, to whom this Cru is dedicated.
Saffredi was ready for the market in 1990 and within a very few years became the success that it still remains as one of the most important red wines within the panorama of the Italian wine world.

(a blend of 50% cabernet sauvignon, 35% merlot and 15% grenache). Very dark ruby, almost black. Utterly seductive aromas of blackberry, mint, eucalyptus and incense. Offers a wonderful creamy richness of cassis-like flavor on the palate, with layers of dark berry fruit expressed with clarity and verve. Silky tannins frame the sweet, lingering finish. This property continues to be a pacesetter in the Scansano area for its elegantly fashioned wines.
