2000 Pride Mountain Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve
Cabernet Sauvignon: 750ml
$89.99
about this wine:
"Making their debut in 2003, the youngest Cabernet Sauvignon vines (located on the Sonoma portion of our mountaintop property) make a stunning contribution to the first Pride Cabernet bearing a label that indicates the estate's unique position straddling the county line... the bright cherry and clove aromas in this elegantly muscular wine indicate a thoroughly rich and ripe Cabernet. Cassis and currant flavors envelope the palate, framed by a full and even tannin spectrum. Enjoyable in its youth as all of the Pride wines are, ample acidity and brightness of fruit guarantee the long-term aging potential of this beautiful wine...The richest vineyard blocks are barrel aged for an additional six months, bottled in extremely small quantities. These 100% varietals are then bottle aged for eight months prior to release. This wine is produced in extremely limited quantities and is made available only to the winery's most loyal consumers."

...Rather reticent, brooding nose hints at black cherry, blackberry, violet, bitter chocolate and new oak; suggestions of almost port-like superripeness. Lush, sweet and fat, with intriguing mineral and tar notes; showing more mid-palate density than the reserve claret but this is also less open and juicy today. Finishes with substantial, broad, oak-driven tannins...

Sleek and elegant, with pretty scents of blackberry and sandlewood, turning elegant and polished. Well-structured, with firm, integrated tannins and a long, complex finish...
