I found the 2000 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva more or less at the same level as the 2001 regular bottling, grapier and perhaps a bit more straightforward in aroma and flavor despite an additional year of age, the texture a bit more round but the concentration and volume at the same level. Drink: 2005-2012.
