Good bright medium ruby. Very dark, primary aromas of cassis, violet and bitter chocolate. Juicy and tightly wound, with sweet but firm flavors of black cherry and licorice. Dry-edged, classic, very young cabernet for the cellar. Finishes with tongue-clenching tannins and very good length. This really calls for six to eight years of bottle aging.

Firm, with a tight core of cedary currant and dark plum flavors, picking up hints of earthy sage and dusky spice notes on the chewy finish. Needs time, but should develop well. Best after 2006. 2,217 cases made. -HS
