ephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Nov/Dev 04 ($58) Good full red-ruby color. Claret-like aromas of redcurrant, nutmeg, tobacco leaf and nutty oak. Then quite suave and silky in the mouth, with a restrained sweetness. Understated flavors of redcurrant, tobacco leaf and nuts. A slightly dry blend with a firm tannic spine, good grip and lovely subtle persistence. This will almost certainly be better for three or four years of additional cellaring. 89(+?) points

Crisp and chewy, a lithe red with firm tannins around a tightly wound core of black cherry and floral flavors, which persist impressively on the focused finish. Needs cellaring. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Best after 2006. 1,150 cases made. –HS
