Attractive aromas of blackberries, cherries and grilled meat. Full-bodied, with big velvety tannins and a long, long, long finish. A gorgeous young wine. Scavino is a master of Barolo. Best after 2008. 1,500 cases made. –JS

This wine is extremely rich, lush, complex, earthy, but with as much finesse something like this can have. Typical nebbiolo notes of mushroom-ie earth, minerality, but the fruit simply explodes with plumb and blackberry. |
