Tasted from the Chateau reserves at the estate. Again, that barley sugar note comes through giving it a Barsac, harmonious with a little mandarin and some lemon curd. Still a little tight. The palate is balanced with ripe honeyed fruit, orange rind and a touch of Seville orange marmalade. Nice taut finish with good acidity, the mineralite compensating for a lack of depth. Very fine for the vintage. Tasted February 2011.

Pale yellow. Superripe nose began a bit subdued but hinted at citrus fruits, nut meats and honey with aeration. Very rich, fat and honeyed, but remains light on its feet. Finishes with very good but not outstanding length. Shows honey, vanilla and salty traces on the end, along with a touch of dryness.

Ultraclean, with apple, vanilla and honey aromas that follow through to a full-bodied palate, medium sweetness and a long, caressing finish. Delicate and balanced. Best after 2007. -JS
