A brilliant effort from proprietor Stephan von Neipperg, this sleeper of the vintage is one of the Cotes de Castillonâ_Ts two or three best wines in 2002. A saturated ruby/purple color is accompanied by a big bouquet of Asian spices, earth, black currants, and incense. With loads of fruit, a touch of noticeable oak, medium to full body, and moderate tannin, it should drink well for a decade or more.
