The deep purple-colored 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Wild Boar Vineyard exhibits a medium to full-bodied, big, brawny, exuberant style with high tannin, noticeable oak, and thick, substantial, dense flavors. Whether it achieves the equilibrium of its 2002 peers remains to be seen, but this full-throttle offering will have many admirers.

The 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Wild Boar Vineyard displays more civilized tannin than the 2001, but is again a big, chunky, monolithic, corpulent red with loads of fruit, body, and muscle. It is just hard to control this beast, which certainly merits its name. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2017.
