98 points,

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, April 2013

Deep garnet in color, the 2002 Hill of Grace has an entrancing nose with profound aromas of warm black cherries, crushed blackberries and mulberries plus a touch of wild blueberries and hints of allspice, violets and toast. It is full-bodied, rich and seductive in the mouth, and yet it has lovely poise with a crisp acid line and a medium to firm level of fine-grained tannins plus great length. Delicious now, it will reward the patient and should drink to 2040+. -Lisa Perrotti-Brown

96 points,

Stephen Tanzer's IWC, September 2007

Ruby-red. Kaleidoscopic, intensely perfumed nose offers red and dark berries, strong Asian spices and pungent herbs, with licorice, mocha and a sexy rose quality emerging with aeration. Lush and creamy, with deeply concentrated but fresh cherry and cassis flavors accented by vanilla bean and exotic chocolate. The finish features slow-building tannins and lingering traces of dark berries, vanilla and roasted coffee. Wonderfully suave, balanced and pure wine with the depth to age but the sex appeal to give early pleasure.

A lavish mouthful of red cherry, blueberry, currant and sweet spice flavors that linger on the creamy-textured finish. Has great style and amazing balance, letting its flavors soar. Shiraz. Drink now through 2020.-HS

About Winery

The Henschke family has been making wine since Johann Christian Henschke planted a small vineyard on his diverse farming property at Keyneton in 1862. In more recent times, fourth-generation Cyril Henschke pioneered varietal and single-vineyard wines. His greatest legacy was the creation of Hill of Grace and Mount Edelstone in the 1950s, shiraz wines from Eden Valley that have captured the red wine world's imagination. Today, it is fifth-generation Stephen Henschke and his wife Prue at the helm, passionately upholding the family name and reputation. This highly regarded team has won a multitude of awards. Henschke boasts a strong portfolio, with a focus on ultra-premium single-vineyard wines.
