The deep ruby/purple-colored 2002 is more austere than usual, but it reveals classy blue, red, and black fruits along with hints of cold steel/wet stone as well as new oak notes that need to be absorbed. This is an elegant, traditionally made wine that should age nicely for 10-12+ years.

About the Winery Grandes-Murailles
The second property within the Reiffers families' portfolio is Les
Grandes Murailles, named after an imposing gothic wall, the 12th century
remains of a Dominican convent, the lies just down the road from Château
Clos-Fourtet. The vineyard lies in the shadow of this ancient ghostly
edifice and is slightly larger than Clos Saint Martin at just 1.96
hectares, producing around 1,000 cases.The vineyard has been owend by the Reiffers family since 1643.
