Dark ruby colored core shows the density of this Right Bank blend. Very up-front and open nose of plum, graphite, chocolate, and cedar. Luscious mid-palate full of dark fruits and chocolate. Boysenberry and fresh currants take over while the exceptional minerality gives way to a nice finish with great length. Plum and cedar accents hold firm all the way through this muscular yet subtle St. Emilion blend. This food friendly wine should be drinking nicely over the next 4-8 years.

Dark ruby core with a lighter pink rim. Rich ripe fruit aromas of plum, cassis and black cherry with spicy anise and cedar over a touch of leather and flint. Lush up front on the palate. Big red cherry fruit, with a dense darker fruit core. Nice charcoal with a hint of roasted coffee. Medium to full-bodied. Very spicy on the finish.

Made in a soft, but not over-ripe style, the deep ruby/plum-tinged 2003 reveals broad, sexy notes of vanilla, black cherry jam, dried herbs, and sweet currants. This fleshy, round, low acid, seductive, luscious effort will provide pleasure over the next decade. Only 1,250 cases were produced, and the 2003 tipped the scales at 13.5% alcohol.

Aromas of jam, berry and cherry follow through to a full-bodied palate, with fine yet round tannins and a long chocolate and berry aftertaste. Loads of sweet fruit here. Exciting stuff. This small producer makes fine wines. Best after 2008. 1,165 cases made. -JS
