From estate-owned Carneros vineyards as well as purchased fruit from the well-known grower Larry Hyde, the 2003 Syrah reveals blackberry and charcoal-like fruit, medium to full body, notions of earth and pepper, loads of fruit and glycerin, and an attractive mouthfeel. It is a Syrah to drink during its first 5-7 years of life.

Dark, rich and smooth, with firm, ripe, intense pepper, wild berry and sage notes that are complex and concentrated, finishing with a long, vivid burst of ripe fruit. Best from 2009 through 2013. 1,000 cases made. –JL
