Despite some noticeable reduction, the aromatic intensity and complexity the old vines deliver is impressive with perfumed red fruits, earth, iron and spice notes that are followed by rich and broadly muscular full-bodied flavors underpinned by chewy tannins and a long and sappy finish. This will require some cellar time to be at its best.

Sappy aromas of cherry, licorice and leather. A step up in fruit and texture from the Clos des Porrets Saint-Georges, with firm minerality giving grip to the silky-sweet flavors. Finishes with substantial broad tannins. Very promising; perhaps my score will prove to be conservative.

This is marked by ripe fruit and a dense texture that serves as a backdrop for the cherry, licorice and mineral notes. Has a good sense of place, with a vibrant finish. Best from 2009 through 2015. 140 cases imported. –BS
