This superb estate, run by Sophie Porquet with consulting from Michel Rollandâ_Ts top assistant, Jean-Philippe Fort, produces approximately 2,500 cases of a blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc. Serious viticultural management and equally impeccable winemaking has resulted in terrific wines over recent vintages. The dense ruby/purple-colored 2004 offers a sweet perfume of creme de cassis, plums, toast, chocolate, and espresso roast. Medium to full-bodied, opulent, and fleshy, this delicious, complex Cotes de Castillon is ideal for drinking during its first 7-8 years of life.
