A more expressive nose of earth and herb-infused red berry fruit aromas merge into rich, full and sweet flavors that are precise and slightly edgy on the relatively powerful and solidly structured finish. This offers good complexity and it's classy but the phenolic ripeness is no better than average for the vintage.

($77) Medium red. Black plum, black cherry, minerals and licorice on the nose, along with some funky reduction. Lush and sweet but a bit ponderous and not especially expressive. Very ripe but still quite tight. Tannins are firm but ripe.

Rich and round, this firmly structured red shows nuances of cherry, licorice, sandalwood and vanilla. Needs a little time to absorb the tannins. Best from 2008 through 2015. 50 cases imported. –BS
