91 points,

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, October 2006

The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) exhibits a dense ruby/purple color along with a big, rich bouquet of black currants, cedar, wood smoke, and loamy soil. Deep, rich, and full-bodied with stunning intensity, sweet but noticeable tannin, and decent acidity, it is a brilliant Cabernet Sauvignon from an area better known for its old vine Shiraz and Grenache. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2020.

92 points,

Wine Spectator, July 2007

Aromas of mint, currant and herb turn supple and harmonious on the palate, with spice, tobacco leaf and fleshy berry flavors. This is a potent young Cabernet, with complex flavors that keep unfolding. Best from 2008 through 2013. 400 cases made. –JL

About Winery

When co-founders George Vare and Mike Moone first laid eyes on the Luna property in 1995, they instantly recognized the magic and the amazing potential of its estate vineyards. Plus, it was perfectly located along the Silverado Trail. So they bought the property and followed their dream, building a winery that paid tribute to the varietals that set Napa Valley apart. They also planted visionary varietals like Pinot Grigio and Sangiovese, which weren't then well known in Napa Valley.

Today the story continues with the more recent additions of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, extending the passion for making great wines, made truly great by exceptional vineyard sites, natural fermentation methods, and a minimum of intervention in the cellar.
