The 2004 Syrah Hilltops Estate is an 800-case cuvee fashioned from the winery's finest parcels. Thirty percent of this wine is aged on the lees of Roussanne for eight months to give it a more floral character, resulting in a complex, exotic, full-bodied, dense purple-colored Syrah offering beautiful notes of blackberries, blueberries, cassis, licorice, and pepper. Stolpman is located in the Ballard Canyon, one of the prettiest spots in the Santa Ynez Valley. Stolpman focuses on Rhone varieties and works exclusively with estate-grown fruit from biodynamically-farmed vineyards. Sashi Moorman oversees winemaking.
