about this wine:
Its firm, well-rounded tannins offer a smoothness ever present over the years. Being highly concentrated, it can be left to age for many years even though it is tempting to drink it young to enjoy the fullness of its fruity aromas and silken finish.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, June 2007
A sumptuous, complex, Provencal-like bouquet of roasted herbs, cherries, licorice, and underbrush emerges from this dark plum/ruby-colored 2004. Tart acidity provides freshness, but the overall impression is of abundant currant and cherry fruit presented in a forward, superficial style. It is best consumed over the next 10-12 years. -Robert Parker

The aroma of tobacco and herbs yields to plum and cassis flavors in a clean, simple wine. The bright flavors follow a straight line and the austere tannins are sure to mellow with five or six years in the cellar.

Wine Enthusiast, June 2007
Dense and solid, relying on rich tannins to give it structure and richness. The flavor is deep and concentrated, with dark black fruits piling in under the dry tannins. A wine that will develop slowly.
89 points,
Wine Spectator, March 2007
Shows blackberry, with some meat and smoke character. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins and a chocolate, berry and light vanilla aftertaste. Balanced. Best after 2008. 29,165 cases made. –JS
