2005 Chateau Beaucastel Coudoulet de Beaucastel Cotes du Rhone Blanc
Proprietary Blend: 750ml
$31.99
Alex Lallos, JJ Buckley, March 2009
Pale golden yellow in color. Bright and fresh nose of creme brule, lemon curd, and quince with some straw aromas thrown in to let the drinker know it's Southern Rhone. Textured and viscous on the palate with some lemon custard and a distinct mineral component. Should age nicely over the short term. Very food friendly

The 2005 Beaucastel Cotes du Rhone Coudoulet blanc, which is always a blend of equal parts Viognier, Bourboulenc, and Marsanne, has beautiful, crisp orange and nectarine notes, loads of fruit, some good underlying acidity, and a hint of exotic tropical fruit as well. It is elegant, medium-bodied, and pleasant.
