Very pale yellow. Lemon, nut oil, smoky oak, spices and a sweet floral nuance on the nose. Rich, ripe and supple but juicy, with lovely depth to the lemon and spice flavors. Despite this wine's rather creamy middle, it also boasts excellent lemony grip and precision. The clean, persistent finish offers noteworthy length and cut. Very fine for this premier cru.

From the standpoint of style, this is my favorite wine to this point as the wood is almost invisible and the floral and spice nose is airy, elegant and pure, followed by rich, sweet and intense flavors brimming with minerality and punch on the balanced, dry and equally pure finish. A complete effort and while not blessed with the best material in the group, it makes the most of what it has. Drink: 2010+

Very ripe aromas of peach, honey and butter. Concentrated, silky, fat and pure, with sweet, seamless yellow fruit flavors and impressive volume. Finishes very sweet and very long, with a liqueur-like suggestion of mirabelle These 2005s have the sheer fat and richness to stand up to the best chardonnays from California.
