70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Dark black/purple with a warm ruby rim. Nose of vanilla, new oak and alcohol. Very soft, sweet raspberry entry onto the palate with liqueur undertones and cedar. Very extracted wine and big tannins. Great value.

The regisseur of the Gerard Perse properties has his own operation, Lusseau. It is a classic St.-Emilion revealing a touch of toasty oak interwoven with beautiful notes of black cherry liqueur, roasted herbs, lavender, and licorice. The aromatics are followed by an opulent, fleshy wine possessing admirable purity and loads of fruit. Drink this lovely 2005 during its first decade of life

Medium ruby-red. Red and darker fruits, coffee, smoked meat and nutty oak on the nose. Fat, broad and soft; unusually plush and full for this wine. The flavors of redcurrant, mocha and smoked meat are perked up by intriguing pepper and spice notes. Finishes with ripe tannins and very good length. A big success for this property.
