Inky black and ruby in the glass with a vibrant ruby rim. Spicy anise aromas lift over cassis and black cherry with a light graphite minerality leading to a hint of toasty vanilla. Spice on the palate and medium to full bodied. Great acidity and balance with dark cherry and cassis flavors leading in to the finish.

Deep plum, dark chocolate and currant aromas follow through to a full body, with soft, velvety tannins. This is long and beautiful, with loads of fruit and texture. A very pretty wine. Best after 2011. 2,400 cases made. –JS
