More tropical fruit and honeysuckle characteristics are present in the crisp, full-bodied 2005 Chardonnay Chloe. Possessing superb purity, unbelievable depth and richness, vibrant acidity, and an incredibly delineated, zesty finish, it should drink well young, yet age for an unusually long time ... 7-10 years.
As I said last year, DuMol is one of my favorite wineries, primarily because of the passion and commitment to quality of owner Kerry Murphy and his winemaker, Andy Smith.
Previously recommended: 2003 Chardonnay Chloe (94+), 2003 Chardonnay Isobel (94), 2003 Pinot Noir Finn (93), 2003 Pinot Noir Ryan (90+), 2003 Syrah Eddie’s Patch (95).

Intense and concentrated, with rich fig, mineral, green pineapple and spice flavors that are a bit raw in texture. Picks up depth and complexity on the finish, with a hint of melon and butterscotch. Best from 2008 through 2012. 708 cases made. –JL
