Black currants, earth and toasty oak dominate a beautiful, expressive nose. On the palate, the wine is balanced with firm tannins that provide excellent structure and carry the dark berry fruit through to the finish. This is drinking beautifully right now, and will really shine paired with beef and heavier cuts of meat. Though the structure indicates this will continue to improve, it's most definitely ready to be enjoyed immediately.

About Winery

Six hectare vineyard that sits across the Dordogne from Castillon-La Bataille. Planted in clay and limestone soils with 80% merlot and 20% cabernet franc with an average age of 25 years. Hand harvested and fermented in both cement and stainless steel, the wine is aged on its lees for the first six months in 50% new and 50% one-year old Saury barrels. 1600 cases produced. Stephane Derenoncourt and his team consult on the winemaking.
