This is ripe and concentrated yet polished and refined, with layers of dark cherry, blackberry and briar caressed by suave toast, vanilla and mineral notes. Long and fleshy through the finish, which shows solid grip. Contains 7 percent Cabernet Sauvignon and 3 percent Viognier. Drink now through 2009. 20,000 cases made. –JM

Nice smoky nose but less fruit-driven than expected. A bit oaky and vegetal when first opened, but much smoother and more balanced on day 2. Would decant for 4+ hours the next time. |
