Brilliant yellow-gold in color. This is a classic representation of a maturing chardonnay offering deep, concentrated aromas of lemon pudding sprinkled with tropical scents of pineapple and mango and topped with hazelnut. Richly textured on the palate, a creaminess at the core makes way for an attractive buttery note on the backpalate. Nevertheless, integrated acids provide a lightness of density and help keep the flavors reined in and focused. Spiciness found in the lemon and mineral-infused finish highlights tension and elegance. Ready to drink now, but has a few years of cellarability ahead.

A sophisticated wine, with a range of precisely judged inputs leaving only a faint imprint on the varietal fruit; minerally finish.

Supple and stylish, this tangy, dry and Macon-like chardonnay has a lightly floral and banana-like aroma of grapefit and melon fruit with underlying nuances of toasty vanilla oak and creamy, charcuterie-like lees-derived complexity. Initially vibrant and juicy, with neatly integrated nutty vanilla oak, it extends towards a long, crisp and savoury finish of refreshing acidity.

From founder/ winemaker Brian Croser's last vintage, this is an excellent wine, balancing ripe peach and nectarine flavors with hints of vanilla and toasted hazelnuts. It's richly textured and full-bodied, with a long finish redolent of custard and citrus. Drink now-2011. J.C.
