Reviews of 2005 Turley Cellars Zinfandel Old Vines
90-92 points, Robert Parker, Wine Advocate December 2006 The outstanding 2005 Zinfandel Old Vines, basically a blend of old vine parcels that are not big enough to be sold individually, reveals a dark plum/ruby color, oodles of sweet cherry, plum, licorice, pepper, and spicy characteristics, medium to full body, and a fleshy, generous, well-endowed personality. Enjoy it over the next 4-5 years.
90-92 points, Stephen Tanzer December 2006 The outstanding 2005 Zinfandel Old Vines, basically a blend of old vine parcels that are not big enough to be sold individually, reveals a dark plum/ruby color, oodles of sweet cherry, plum, licorice, pepper, and spicy characteristics, medium to full body, and a fleshy, generous, well-endowed personality. Enjoy it over the next 4-5 years. Previously recommended: As indicated last year, 2004 was a terrific vintage for Turley Zinfandels. If they can still be found, I would opt for purchasing them over their lighter 2005 counterparts.
88 points, Wine Spectator June 2007 A bit on the wild side, showing tart plum, toasty oak and roasted anise aromas, with bold flavors of cherry and cracked pepper that balance tart acidity and burly tannins. Drink now through 2012. Tasted twice, with consistent notes.

James W. June 2008 Probably one of the more complex zinfandels that I've ever had, this wine is drenched with dark fruit and spice. This is not a light wine by any means, and this will over power any weak foods. Enjoy over the next 8 years. |

About the Winery Turley Cellars
Referred to as "The Zin Masters" Owner Larry Turley and winemaker Ehren
Jordan are making great Zinfandels in California from Napa Valley
vineyards. The winemaking of emphasizing maximum ripeness is now considered gospel by
many, but the first Turley Zinfandels had unprecedented richness and
concentration.
