A 2005 Gewurztraminer Mambourg Quintessence de Grains Nobles offers a gorgeous bouquet of litchi, rose, candied citrus, and high-toned herbal distillate, then disarms you with the delicacy and elegance with which it wafts across yet saturates the palate, like a liqueur of spiced litchi, distilled essence of rose petals, and creamily-textured Gewurztraminer reveals amazingly frisky concentration of fresh citrus, and manages to finish with enormous refreshment and refinement for all of its botrytis-saturation and analytically almost freakish ripeness.
