The medium-bodied 2005 Pinot Noir Allen Vineyard exhibits plenty of tart strawberry and cranberry fruit intermixed with notions of rose petals, wet stones, and high acidity. It should drink well for 5-10 years.

Medium red. Potent raspberry, cherry, blackberry and mocha aromas, complicated by a seductive floral quality. A sweet, silky midweight with vivid red berry flavors framed by fine-grained tannins. A light dusty note appears on the finish, followed by an explosion of lush, almost jammy strawberry that lingers tenaciously. Utterly delicious pinot, with remarkably sweet and pure red fruit flavors.

About the Winery Williams Selyem
The Allen Pinot Noir Vineyard surrounds our winemaking facility. This Russian
River Valley hillside vineyard was planted in the early 1970’s, and produces low
yields of exceptional quality Pinot Noir. Fog-cooled evenings and moderately
warm daytime temperatures make the Russian River region ideal for growing
Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes.
About the Wine
For this wine, Bob selected hand-made French oak barrels, with medium-plus
toast. The wine was aged for 16 months in Francois Freres oak barrels, 58% new
oak, 42% one-year-old. 14.1% Alcohol
