I can't say enough about how beautifully classic, racy, and gracious the wines of Brane Cantenac have become over the last decade. The stunningly elegant 2006 exhibits a sweet, subtle smoke note intermixed with creme de cassis in its medium-bodied style with superb nobility, concentration, and sweet tannin. Possessing a complex, luscious personality with strikingly beautiful, velvety tannins, it should be at its finest between 2012-2025+.

About Winery

Château Brane-Cantenac, Second Classified Growth in 1855 and described as first of the seconds for a long time, owes its reputation from the great potential of its soil of exception. Since the XVIIIth century, the wines of Brane-Cantenac are among the most famous wines of the Medoc.

Lucien Lurton, owner of Brane-Cantenac since 1956 passes the direction of the estate over to his son Henri Lurton in 1992. He implements an important work of development of the vineyard, equipping the estate with innovating technical facilities.

Being based on his know-how, on his large knowledge of the vineyard, as well as on a dynamic and passionate team, he endeavours to produce each year a "great wine" and a second wine (Baron de Brane) of high quality, worthy of the row of Second Classified Growth of Brane-Cantenac.

Discrete, lover of the soils and the vines like his father, Henri Lurton perpetuates the style of this racy wine, aromatic, at the same time complex and well-balanced, by taking in account the quality of the vintage as well as the exceptional richness of its soil.
