The top cuvee, the 2006 Chardonnay Estate, is fashioned from the vineyard's finest blocks (primarily old Wente clones). A light straw/gold color is followed by aromas of sweet honeyed grapefruit, quince, poached pears, and a subtle touch of white peaches. Medium to full-bodied with steely acidity, excellent depth, a hint of oak, and a long finish, it can be enjoyed over the next 2-3 years.

Light, bright gold. Restrained scents of green apple and pear skin unfurl with air, offering deeper melon and peach qualities. Tangy, sharply focused citrus and orchard fruit flavors stain the palate, picking up floral and herbal character with air. The finish is strikingly pure and bright and repeats the citrus and floral notes. This seems very young, and in need of a year or two to unwind. 91 points
